The show really needs? to concentrate in more KAren/Derek moments and it will retain an audience. Their chemistry is unbelievable. Derek with Ivy just comes across as plain gross. I believe in this show so much! So much potential. Hope fans stay loyal and keep watching!

no i would think Ivy was easier to sell becuz she has the Broadway jist. but getting Karen to become as experinced as? ivy, would be harder. and i completly agree that kAREN CAN'T ACT!

If we start talking about selling a product, then? marketing can do miracles. Then I'd even say Karen would be an easier target to promote: a fresh face, nothing like Marilyn appearance-wise, underdog personality. However, Ivy has a true advantage which is Broadway voice and she is more comfortable on the stage with her costars. Karen can learn to dance or dye her hair, but ok it will sound funny, I think Katherine McPhee is a good actress but Karen? Terrible.

i agree. and yeah it probably isn't the final choice, ur right. But Ivy? is the better choice for Mariyln. and in showbiz it doesn't matter who the person is or what they did, it matters if they will sell the role well or not. PLUS that video that Ellis posted probably made ppl expect Ivy to be in the musical so if Karen pops up then i'm sure the audience won't come for a second show

I doubt that sleeping with a director helps even a bit. I think that if Karen? had slept with Derek, she still wouldn't have gotten the part.

I don't understand why people think this is the final decision. It's been two episodes, first of all, and second, you need years to develop a musical. A lot will happen during time. I am 99% sure that they will make a Marilyn Musical with two main parts, Norma Jean and Marilyn Monroe. I think Karen is perfect to show the human part of Marilyn: super sexy Ivy is also vulnerable, but Karen has this down-to-Earth thing.? Though I don't see much marilyn-ness in her.

I was sad that Karen didn't get the part. But honestly, after i saw how happy Ivy was i couldn't really be mad at her for getting it. And stop saying she got it cuz she slept with Derek, Derek came onto HER. i don't think that was her intention at all. plus she is VERY talented. she is perfect for the role. Karen would have been a risky decision. and doing a Marilyn Musical was risky anyway. so don't hate on her. she is a very talented person and maybe we just don't understand her character yet.?

Team Karen. Ivy comes across as so profoundly gauche and unkind -- and that is not Marilyn at all. Her body is wrong,? her singing style is over the top, and she exudes force and ruthlessness. Wrong wrong wrong.

I love Karen! can't stand Ivy, she had to sleep her way to be sure she got the part, and Karen didn't do? that, she stayed loyal to her man! There's always a possibility that ivy will get kicked out, and Karen will become the new Marilyn.

I know we are all supposed to be cheering for Karen and say "She should've been Marilyn!!", but in actuality, what happened is very realistic to what happens everyday in the showbiz world. Ivy had more credits and connections, and sleeping with the director didn't hurt, either. I'm not saying in? the least bit that sleeping with ANYONE just to get a role in a show is okay AT ALL, but it does happen, and the outcome is usually like this. That being said, I appreciate how realistic this show is.

Karen has this fresh innocence to her that's easy on the eye, while Ivy looks Broadway bred. The only reason why I'm not jumpy for Ivy is because she became too eager for the part. I mean... sleeping with the Director? A bit careless. I do? prefer Ivy for Marilyn, but Karen deserves to have spotlight for something else. They're both extremely talented in their own right.

Team Karek! You know what that means? I am totally shipping Derek and Karen even though he is sleeping with Ivy? first. Karen might just be the person that will break Derek's barriers and make him fall for her. But it will take a long time. I love the mysterious chemistry there is between them. I hate Ivy, something about her rubs me the wrong way.
